Re: As someone who religiously warns for OCs
(Anonymous) 2013-09-16 07:13 am (UTC)(link)Someone down thread explained it better, but when I'm looking for stories on Character A - I want stories on Character A. I don't want to go into something tagged for Character A, only to find out it's all about an OC or Character B or C or X.
It doesn't matter if it's well written. Maybe it's something I could even enjoy if I was in the mood and wanted to read about who it really is about. But right then at that moment? I want to read about character A and I don't like being tricked into it because urgh what's so bad about being honest and upfront your tagging.
and individually those milliseconds (or minutes depending on the writing style) will pile up and I will get annoyed if I'm constantly opening and closing fics trying to find something about Character A because yes I'm wasting time I could be reading :C So I'm saving time by having ways I filter fics out and that will include things like spelling mistakes in summaries, a low word count and yes if there are OC main characters. Just..tag your main characters and that includes OC's and we'll all be happy because I'll find what I want and the author should hypothetically get the readers they want o_O
