But I don't want to read something as personal as someones else's OC fantasy. It makes me feel uncomfortable and embarrassed.I don't care if they're a good writer, I just don't want to read it.

Well I don't agree with AYRT because preferences and all. But not all OC fics are personal fantasies. At least no anymore than regular fic is. I've seen people write personal fantasies with all canon characters.

But yeah people should NOT be obliged to give someones fic a chance if they don't like it. Nopenopenope. If they don't want to read it they don't want to read it.

It's that "but you like like my fic if you tryyyy it, just TRY it pleeeeeeeeeasse" attitude that gives those of us OC authors who just ..happen to write OCs because they fit the story a bad name.
