I wish people who were assholes for silly things, or told people to kill themselves over silly things would feel this way.

I wish people who think they're cute and edgy by spewing toxic shit at anyone and anything they don't like ("you like writing something I hate? RETARD") would feel this way.

sorry for this tirade. I just recently experienced a lot of online assholery directed at me recently and got jaded by the fact that people say the rudest stuff and then go "It's the internet I'm entitled to act this way"

ugh, exactly. Hurting real people over fictional characters is just STUPID.

Especially in fandom, where there are so many people who are depressed and things- something that's not a big deal to someone who's mentally healthy (like, hearing 'go kill yourself lol' might not be pleasant, but it's not going to hurt you badly) can really push someone who's depressed over the edge. But people seem to forget sometimes real people live at the other end of the keyboard.

The other day in a convo about OCs. All I did was mention it was funny that people flip out ridiculously because of mistagging of an OC compared to other things (one person there put OC warnings over TRIGGER WARNINGS for fucks sake-calling trigger warnings stupid bullshit but being all "HOW DARE YOU WASTE SOMEONE'S TIME") Then someone comes at me saying I probably cut myself because I don't get that many views on my "shitty OC fic".

Dude....I know people who cut and who struggle with that....that just made me so angry that they threw it out as an insult. I've seen "kill yourself" NUMEROUS times. People call each other scum for all sorts of things. "disagree with my opinion? You're a jackass, kill yourself".
