Korra's first season with tah travesty of a love triangle episode.

I still stuck with it out of pure stubbornness, but it was a very painful ride...

And the gifs I keep seeing of the Twins from the new episodes have me going "NOPE" with how possessive one of them is over Bolin. Like she made up her mind and he has no say. I'll have to see the full episode to get the full context, but going by gifs alone, that makes me all kinds of uncomfortable.

I watched both episodes and the relationship between Eska and Bolin is goddamn creepy and wrong and abusive. She treats him as a servant (well, slave - "You mean like a boyfriend or like a slave?" "Yes."), and uses ice to physically drag him away from Korra when he gives her a hug after she's risked her life to do something.

And just.

Why are people fangirling this relationship.

Why ;_;

Much like so many of Korra and Mako's mistakes in book one, I saw Eska and Bolin as being more realistic? He did ask her out, they're only 16 and she's more mature than him, going through an emo/insecure phase, and really bossy. We're used to media portraying teenagers as masters of casual dating, but that doesn't mean showing the awkward misadventures of first relationships means it's glamorizing abuse...?

I could easily be giving them too much credit, though. Most of my problems with Korra are about how rushed everything feels and I spend a lot of time trying to make things work in my head. Also my boyfriend said she reminded him of me while we were watching so I might be a bit defensive.

I guess I just don't see how "awkward" and d'aww it is when she forms ICE around his head to pull him away from Korra, cause he DARED to give her hug...?

Like I said, I need to actually sit down and watch the episodes, but after last season's travesties and what I've been seeing in those gifs, I have no hopes for that pair either.

I just...wat.
