A tl;dr fandom confession

(Anonymous) 2013-09-17 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
I have a massive attraction to wish fulfillment fic. I don't care whose wish fulfillment it is, or if those wishes are even remotely like my own. I eat it up. I just can't get enough of stories where the main character's life is perfect and they get everything they want, even if it requires canon to be torn to shreds and thrown out the window in favor of a world that revolves around the author and their fantasies. And sometimes these fics are readable, if trite. But most of the time, they're just bad. And I'll cringe the whole way through, but I can't put it down. I don't even think I want to.

...I suddenly reminded myself of the fake Lemony Snicket book cover (http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m1totyVPJF1r0hx0so1_400.jpg). Oh man, I would read the shit out of a series like that.

Another confession: I really hate it when my posts get no replies.

DA

Interesting seems to be... really relative these days. I personally find reaction posts interesting, but hardly anyone ever replies to those.

I know the feeling. But then I try and remember how many posts I read and mean to respond to, but don't get a chance for whatever reason.

I'm not into it, but that sounds really nice, OP. You sound sweet.
