They didn't just say they're afraid of dogs. They said they believe every dog has the potential to suddenly act like they suffer from rabies or in OP's own words: "go Cujo".

I also didn't equate fear of dogs to killing them.
But I have sadly experienced this from people who actually believed a dog was secretly dangerous and that's why I think OP's mindset is disgusting.

I think you're conflating your personal loss with this other random person's fear of dogs.

A very natural fear ISN'T disgusting nor does it make a person disgusting. Dogs, like people, vary. And training is enormously important. Plus, and I can't stress this enough, dogs're immature wolves. As much as I like wolves in theory, there are very solid reasons that they rarely come off well in fairy tales.

And, honestly, you certainly implied that fearful people poison rottweilers and that secret poster was about two steps away from taking out a rottweiler puppy. It's irrational.
