Once Upon a Time. When August (a 30 something year old man) turns into Pinocchio (a 10 year old boy), forgetting his entire life, memories, and lessons learned.

And then the characters see it as a happy ending. Like, Snow White and Prince Charming are smiling and crying tears of joy and I'm all "WTF?" I checked out after that.

That disturbed me so fucking much. I'll probably still watch (out of curiosity more than anything else), but holy crap was that fucked up and wrong. I can't believe the show left him like that...

They were happy because August dying was a foregone conclusion. It was the fact that he didn't completely die that made it a happy ending.
