Yikes! How come?

At the risk of starting an assload of wank, basically she got an abortion and didn't even tell me she was pregnant until after. When we got married, neither of knew for sure if we wanted kids or when and we agreed that we'd be open with each other if we figured it out or ended up in a situation.

Clearly that was all bullshit. And I'm pro-choice! I've fucking been pro-choice since I was 9 when my mom had one because she couldn't afford another kid or being pregnant. But this just feels different and wrong and I'm done.

SA

Wow, actually felt kind of good getting that off my chest.

OUCH, man. Sorry. Has this changed how you feel about abortion or just about her?

IDK. About her for sure. I've always been on the safe/legal/rare train when it comes aborting, and I guess that hasn't changed. I think maybe I would have leaned toward wanting a kid, though. But maybe I'd feel differently if it weren't all "Surprise! Abortion!" and things had gone like we said they would.

Dude, try not to think about what you might have wanted her to do, because that just leads to crazy town. Been there, got the t-shirt. Hope you can find someone irl to talk to. Nonreligious men's support groups are like the magical unicorns of support groups, so I just hate my ex a lot. Healthy coping mechanisms: party of none, your table is ready.

da

I can see how that'd really ruin some trust there and make a dent on your relationship

/also prochoice, also pro-communication in relationships

Dude, I'm female and pro-choice, and that was an absolutely dick move on her part. (Giving you the benefit of the doubt here, of course, that you were getting along all right otherwise and she had no compelling reason why telling you would have somehow placed her in a bad situation.)
