Germany? And Germany is actually pretty good with translations. *shrug* I sampled the adult novel section and in the non fiction science books.

I mean I guess in bigger libraries there's sorting by genre and then you get a lot of female authors writing family stories? Or whatever section you imply?
You can go by publishing ratio in general, if you want to. Men are over represented, there's no denying that, even if you find local differences.

Family stories? Because typical women can only think about family and kids, right? That's some cliched thinking.

Try the YA section.

Oh c'mon, don't be unfair. Should I accuse you of thinking women mainly write for young adults, because they're all about children and teenagers, while men write the adult novels?!

Naw, because it's just really my (subjective) experience. When I went to that section in a bigger library I didn't have to search nearly as long! Same with romance and crime stories, at least if you look behind pen names.

I'm sick and tired of YA =.=
