Secret 9 - The Three Investigators (book series)

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-09-19 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[Picture is the cover of a book from the "The Three Investigators" series. It shows a drawing of three young boys in a cemetery at night, looking around while holding a magnifying glass, a large recorder and a camera. There are crows (or ravens?) flying around, and the shadow of someone wearing a cape behind a spider web feet away from them, sort of in the foreground.]

In my headcanon, these three grow up, graduate high school, go to different colleges, pursue different careers and slowly drift apart, barely speaking to each other. Then one summer in their forties they all get nostalgic and decided to spend a week at a hotel together reminiscing about their teenage days. While they're there, something weird and mysterious happens, and they all pitch in to solve it together like they used to, and they have so much fun at it that they realize this is what they were meant to be doing, so they all ditch their jobs and set up a real detective agency and live happily ever after.

Bonus secret: I always imagine that Pete and Bob found wives, but Jupiter remained happily single all his life.
