Ugh, this class

I'm having a real 'I don't wanna but I havta' moment, FS, just have to rant for a bit.

One of my classes is an intensive - five all-day sessions over five weeks (technically six, but one week is a break), with an extra week at the end to finish your second of two assignments (first is 1,500 words, due in four weeks, the final is 3,000 words). I'm writing this during lunch of the first session, and...

I fucking hate this class. It's goddamn boring (I do Museum Studies, it's about museum administration), half the readings are legalese, and it really doesn't help that the lecturer (who I have for another class and did have for an earlier class last semester) is... kind of really not great, doesn't plan stuff out too well, and rushes over material.

And I cannot drop it because I need this class to graduate and the only other option is a class I want to do even LESS.

Blaugh. Why did I decide to do a Master's, again?

Aw, that sucks :(

When I have to do really boring stuff like that, I pretend I'm a character from a movie or show that has someone who has to do something like that. Or I pretend I work for them. I had to write a technical document for my office outlining the server layout and explain what files can be added and where. Most boring thing in the world. Until I started pretending I was writing it to help Giles during the reestablishment of the Watcher's Council and that the files that would get added to the server were important for training new Slayers and Watchers and I had to get it just right or they might not be able to avert the apocalypse when they were out of training.

...my head is a strange place but I have lots of fun there.

NA

Aw, that's awesome! I might try doing this myself, sometime. Rock on :)

...Heh, maybe I can consider it as training for setting up the Museum of New Hyrule, or training as Lenora's replacement at Nacrene Museum or something. That's kind of a neat idea, I'll keep it in mind!

Sometimes we have to do things we don't like. Grad school is generally one of those things. Keep in mind that some of the courses in grad school are designed to test your mettle and find out whether or not you reallllly want the degree you're going for. The answer could be no. If it's not, just stick to it, do the work, and try to focus on how awesome it's going to be when you get that degree.

Hang in there!

Yeah, true... I really do like my field, and I've liked most of my classes! Especially my internship, which is... actual experience. I'm just learning that I REALLY do not like administration.

It's useful to know, I know that, and I'm not going to drop it, just. I have to actually get through class without tuning out or spending the entire six hours doodling in my notebook or something.
