What non-human or fictional thing do you identify with most?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-20 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
^ What the question says.

This isn't necessarily furry/otherkin stuff, you don't have to think you are Tolkien elf or Warriors cat or Homestuck troll on the inside to identify with aspects of their culture or sth.

Trees. Yeah, they're not sentient or anything but still. I choose trees.

eh there are lots of series where they are sentient, if you look around. ents are obvious, but i liked the ones in the Diane Duane's Young Wizards series the best

I am with you, though on my end, it's pine trees. They're just so regal, and calm.

So, I guess I don't completely identify, but I wish I could?

Same here. If I had to choose a "creature" I would say dryad, but... yeah, trees. (Seiken Densetsu has always been very special to me...)

I said sloth once and got this weird "well I used to think that but I decided it wasn't healthy and or going to get me anywhere" speech. That was fun and helpful.
I was just trying to be more original than cat! Cat is always my answer.

It's cat for me, too, to be honest.

Clones. Anybody grown in a vat, basically. Kyle XY and the Stormtroopers in the Star Wars The Clone Wars series in particular.

As someone who has worked in retail and customer service, I really empathize with the Daleks. Sometimes all you want to do is EXTERMINATE humanity, and there is always someone stopping you.

Of course these days, having a nice peaceful office job, I really empathize with the Daleks. Just I want to EXTERMINATE people that won't hand their paperwork in on time to be actioned and thus screw up my budgets.

Robots (and cyborgs, to a lesser extent).

Both for me as well.

I've always had kind of an affinity with androids. Ever since I was a kid, if I could relate to a character in a sci-fi setting, it was usually the token robot. Not so much the "devoid of human emotion" type as the "inquisitive and literal-minded misfit" type, though.

fictional thing?

Ghost Zone ghosts from Danny Phantom. Must suck being stuck on one thing or in one place for eternity.

I don't know that I'd say "identify with", but I'd love to be some kind of shapeshifting eldritch shadow-monster.
