Myself, I see video game avatars as separate characters from myself, so I'll play as all sorts of things. I like making little backstories for them too.

Yeah I do as a matter of fact, since most arguments from male gamers seem to of the 'I'd rather stare at a female butt than a male one' and then there's the ones who are in it for the femslash (my sexuality is not a fetish!)

No. Creating a dark skinned protagonist is just making up a character. It can be done badly, but it's not inherently weird.

Not really. I played a black character in Saints Row.

Its only odd if she also posts fanart of the character asking for fried chicken, wearing sunflower or crow costumes, or other minstrely things.

If she isn't doing that then she is roleplaying a character in a roleplay game. You're allowed to play characters who are not your gender/race/religion/political persuasion/football team/whatever the fuck is different, and in fact it should be encouraged.

Man, I have five Mass Effect playthroughs and only two are white (One American, one Canadian). And the remaining three are a black lady (from France), an Asian lady (From Japan), and an Indian gentleman (From India). (I make detailed headcanons.) Obviously I am not all of these ethnicities. Pray tell, what is wrong with me doing this? I'd like to see you explain in a way that doesn't make you seem racist.
