SAME HERE! I was disappointed when Lupin was introduced in Harry Potter, because suddenly I was seeing the name everywhere but nobody was talking about the fandom I wanted them to be. :(

Clarification: The movie, not the books. I wish I'd been into Lupin III back when the book came out.

I got into Lupin through a CD of club remixes for the theme songs my dad found in a giveaway pile at work, which was five years ago at least. :D Ain't that grand?
