Oh good, I'm not the only one. I have a friend who supposedly had some ancestors flee France for Scotland to get away from the first revolution, so her thing is always "Oh I would have been nobility back then" and I'm like "yeah, or have lost all your land and money and titles and had your head cut off." Except she can fire back with "and you would have either starved to death or spent your pathetically short, disease-ridden life gutting fish." And it's true. And if we're talking time travel rather than being born then, I would definitely be dead really quickly.
