For benefit-related reasons, I'm only permitted to work 29 hours a week. This is totally fine by me normally, because the job pays more than twice as much as my previous full-time 40-per-week job.

And technically I don't work the full 29 hours most weeks because my department (and the employer in general, but ESPECIALLY my department's bosses) are pretty laid-back about things like "It's a nice day and the load is light, who wants to go for a walk through the nature preserve out back?" and "since we want our people to be healthy despite desk jobs, free hour per day at the on-site workout center while clocked in". But then some weeks we're hit hard and I really wish I was allowed to work more than 29, because I have five other departments all wanting something at once.
