I don't think it's shallow but that the genre, supernatural horror/psychological horror, is incredibly popular in fandom to the point that you practically get an instant fandom with these shows the moment it airs, for some, even before it airs. See Supernatural, Teen Wolf, Hannibal, Grimm, Bates Motel and America Horror Story for example.
