People over the age of sixteen who use netspeak. I don't mind "LOL" or "ttyl" even, it's "u" and stuff like that. You're a thirty year old high school teacher; I know you can spell a three letter word.
starphotographs: I like him. He kind of looks and acts like one of my characters. (I did not know this when I started liking him!) (Victor (...>:|))

People of any age that say "OMG!" out loud. Just... Stop that. :|

(This was originally in the wrong place, sorry Other Anon!)

This one gets me. I am a preschool teacher, and I do some babysitting for some of the kids I have had in my classes. The number of the parents (who are doctors, lawyers, scientists, professionals) who use text speak when writing to me irks me. I'm sorry, I know it is a minor thing, but a message like "k b there in 10" or using "u" for "you" really bothers me coming from them.

Ditto. It's even funnier when the people who do this get all bent out of shape because people look at how they write and assume they're either twelve years old or an idiot. It's almost as if we're using a medium where the written word is how people judge you or something crazy like that!

It's really fucking annoying when people use in serious internet discussions

I'm really going to take your political views seriously when you type with textspeak

In the same vein, people over the age of thirty who use baby talk--with other adults, not babies. Yes, FOAF who describes her trip to the supermarket for nanners and maters, I mean you.
