I first got contacts waaaaay back in the early eighties, and basically you just need to be fearless about grabbing them and about touching your eye. If you're freaking out about either thing and can't actually keep your eye open when your fingers are near, it's gonna be more difficult for you than not.

What kind of prescription do you have? The lower (like 40/40), the thinner the contacts are and to me, the more annoying they are to use. If you have really crappy eyesight like i do, then your contacts will have a bit more heft and be easier to deal with.

I haven't had contacts in years because i have a really bad astigmatism and the last time i had them, they kept rotating every time i blinked. Apparently, now they have a correction for that so i hope i'll be able to get contacts again some day. But first - like you - i need to see the damn eye doctor.

Good luck!

I don't know for sure, but pretty bad. But I remember last time I got them examined, so many years ago the doctor said I had a great prescription for contacts.

Lucky you! :)

I wanted to get the Lasik stuff, just so i'd have *less awful* eyesight, but the doc told me that that's not really used for correcting astigmatism like i have.
*sigh*

I never hoped to have 20/20, but something under 1000 would be nice
