They're really not as similar as you might think. Vriska is a fuckup who fucks everyone (including, perhaps especially, herself) over in her attempts to be as awesome as she thinks she should be. From what we've seen so far, Aranea actually has her act together.

I will be really disappointed if we don't get some further explanation about Aranea's nefarious scheme. For example:

--How long was she planning it? (If healing Terezi's eyes was an active move to sabotage the living players, she's been planning it since before meeting Vriska.)
--Did she have a line on the Ring of Life before John mentioned it?

...I also want to read fic about her therapist on Beforus.

I like Mindfang Aranea more than I ever did Vriska, but she's still been getting on my nerves.
It's dat arrogance.

honestly i dislike vriska for a slew of reasons but i think it's clear that deep down she was taking her "ends justifies the means" mentality because she wanted to save her friends. she more or less said as much somewhere down the road.

aranea is kind of the outcast of the alpha trolls, so i really don't think she's acting out for the benefit of others. she of all people knows that the session has a set plan and her acting out as she is more or less puts the session in danger of becoming doomed. from her own little tangents it honestly seems like her motivation is her own personal greatness, above the ultimate wellbeing of those she cares about. i feel like, at the very least, the same cannot be said for vriska.

idk i don't really like either of them. they're both so reckless that their risks have only turned out bad results.

Also, Vriska is at least aware she's not a good person. She totally sucks at trying to change and seems to have given up at the moment, but at least she knows.
