I admit that I'm still not sure about him, but angels were such dicks. I honestly don't understand why the fandom loves them so much. They're almost as bad as the evil they claim to fight. They needed to be brought down in a major way.

Fandom doesn't love angels in general, just the ones that were on humanity's side, like Castiel and Gabriel and the ones that were generally good, like Samandriel.

Everyone hates or loves to hate angels like Raphael, Uriel and Zachariah.

Ugh, Gabriel was introduced as a remorseless ass who punished humans for the hell of it. One damn episode rolls around where the guy's all sunshine and roses and this stupid fandom forgets how that bastard was introduced in the first place.

I always liked the angels because they were huge dicks, made them fun to watch. But I am someone who is more likely to prefer the villain over the hero.

Season 8 is sooooo much dramatically better than 6 and 7 :P Not *quite* up to par with the core first five, imho, but *really* good :)

Good to know. I don't really trust Tumblr's judgement at all. Still, it's not so much a question of whether or not it's good - I'm just frankly really tired of this series already. imo, s5's finale was really good and I think SPN should have been left that way instead of dragging it out with no clear plot direction.

The angels probably deserved to get thrown out of Heaven considering their utter failure at doing anything right, but Earth didn't deserve to deal with the fallout. ...There's a bad pun in that.

Many fans are probably more upset by his getting Cas to trust him and then hanging him out to dry.

I feel bad for Cupids and the lower Angels who have no clue what is going on and think they are just following God's plan. But the Archangels and those Angels that are higher up on the food chain? Yeah, they deserved the swift kick in the hide they got.

I like that pretty much everyone is such a dick in Supernatural. Demons? Dicks. Angels? Dicks. Pagan gods and goddesses? Dicks. God? Major dick. Humans? Mostly dicks (with daddy and codependency issues). Like, the least dickish being is Death. Death is fucking awesome. And maybe Garth. And Kevin. And Charlie.

I know a lot of people like the angels being dicks, but I wish there had been more of a separation between Lucifer and the other angels. It's hard to consider Lucifer the "bad guy" when the other angels aren't much better than him. Lucifer wants to end humanity? Meh. If Zachariah had been given the chance, he'd probably do the same.

I might not be up to the last season but.. Didn't Zachariah actually wanted Lucifer to end humanity anyway? I mean, really, the two angels who didn't hate mankind were Anna and Castiel. Samadriel wasn't there long enough to make an impression, and I'm pretty sure Balthazar and Gabriel didn't care at all.

Zachariah basically didn't care how much of humanity was destroyed in the process of the apocalypse... it was more about Michael and Lucifer having their big death match because that was the plan :/ ... and current canon calls into question whether or not that was actually *God's* plan or that of the archangels in charge of things in heaven...
