Word. Kaidan may be whiny, but at least he doesn't suck as much.

To be honest, though, if I'd had the choice I probably would have left them both on Virmire and taken Kirrahe with me to replace them. HOLD THE LINE.

i always give kaidan to kirrahe bc i can't not go help my salarians out and between ashley and kaidan i much prefer keeping kaidan.

But you save Kirrahe as long as you do the side objectives on Virmire.

i thought kirrahe and the other salarians (plus your squadmate) would die if you opted to stick near the bomb instead of going out to aid them. idk either way salarians are very important to me i have to protect them at all costs

eta: oh i know what you mean, yeah he dies if you don't destroy the things and whatever. i meant when you have to choose whether to go back and give the salarians extra firepower or stick near the bomb and help fight off the geth or w/e. i'm pretty sure the whole salarian team will get wiped out if you choose the latter. ??

In my canon playthroughs, I always have Kaiden arm the bomb and Ashley help the salarians. When I choose to save Ash or Kaiden, I always go back towards the bomb to be extra sure that it goes off. Later, after the bomb has gone off, the salarians are always in the cargo bay near Wrex.

The first time it happened, I went "Bwuah?!?" because I thought it would kill them.

oh wtf? i feel lied to.

i kinda like that though because having to choose between ashley and kaidan was a pretty unexpected twist in the game, imo, and it would really suck if you wanted to save the salarians but also... not get the squadmate near the bomb killed

I did too. I've chosen to view it as Ash being enough of a badass to hold the line against an army of geth and krogan, allowing the salarians to reach the Normandy.
