I'd love to read the really angsty fic version of that, tbh. The fake-out scenes where we thought the others died were amazing.

I miss this show so much.

Damn, you really wanted things to go out on a depressing note, didn't you?

TBH I barely remember the ending (don't think I caught the entire episode) but that show was consistently good in a way few others are, and even if I was losing interest near the end I was sad to hear it had been canceled.

Anyway, write this. I have no doubt you would find a fanbase.

I'd watch it! I mean, I'd hate the world and cry into my cheerios the whole time, but it would be kinda satisfying in an OTT way

I'm normally all for the depressing endings, even if it leaves characters I have grown to love dying horrible deaths or being left broken messes, but... I just don't think I could have taken that ending.

(Also, whoa, what a coincidence that there's a Leverage secret today. I just got my season five DVD and I'm re-watching the entire last season and I just want to talk about this show with everyone. I already miss it probably more than I should. It was just one of those shows that always managed to lift my spirits and make me happy.)

I just finished watching season 5 too! It really is my go-to happy place show. Alas there is not much in the way of fandom ;_;

(Anonymous) 2013-09-26 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, same. It's what I watch whenever I'm in a bad mood. Oh, I know. It's such a shame there's not much for fandom and fic. I want all the fluffy team fics and all the emotion inducing fanvids!

Well, I write mostly fluff and fave mostly the same. :D

Oooh, thanks! I'll definitely check it out!

I miss Leverage so much.

How did the show end?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-26 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
For those of us too lazy to go look it up?

spoilers

everyone lives

Nate and Sophie 'retire' (although pretty much everyone is certain that actually involves rooftop chases in Paris and art heists and shit)

The three musketeers continue on robin-hooding as Leverage. Ass is kicked and names are taken.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-26 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
But Parker didn't survive in that ending? She bled out from her gunshot wound and died in the back with Eliot and Hardison while Nate and Sophie Thelma and Louised it off the bridge.

I mean, I understand liking the darker ending but it's an AU!AU if you get me?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-26 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
No there was a SECOND (or was it third?) ending, where Sterling was like "Parker's still in the server room!" In that version of events only Parker and Nate survived.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-26 12:05 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG that's true. I never really thought about what would have happened in Sterling's scenario if it had been true. That is interesting...

I would have been utterly livid if that was the way things ended. Leverage is one of very few dramas I've kept up with that never gave in to the temptation to end up dark and cynical and death-happy. I kept anxiously waiting for it to happen for five seasons and I'm so relieved that it never did.. I love dark and cynical stuff, but not when it's so prevalent that it becomes obnoxious and predictable. Leverage is a wonderful exception these days (even though the deaths were very well done, I admit).
