Re: Bad Classroom Teacher

Do these kids never go to lunch? Can you not spend 5 minutes at the end of a day having a one-on-one? Maybe him being gone will be a good thing, if he's so bad.

Also, if you feel so useless, is there no advisor or mentor you can talk to for guidance? Surely you didn't get tossed into a school with nobody but Fandom Secrets for help.

They get lunch but they spend it in the classroom. The only time all of them are out is during gym (in which they get to run around and such).

I have no free time during school and all the students leave as soon as the bell rings to ride buses home.

I might email an old professor to ask her what to do. As it is, I don't want to rock the boat with administration because I just got the job 2 weeks ago and really need the income. Also, if I do go to them and they do nothing, I'll have to work with this teacher for the rest of the school year.

I'm saying, when all the students are out of the classroom for gym or whatever, that would be a good time to discuss things with the teacher one-on-one. But it seems like a mostly moot point, since he's going to be away for so long.

Definitely email the old professor for advice on handling the class, but the long and short of it is to be a good teacher's aid, you have to make the time (paid or unpaid) and find an appropriate way to address concerns with the appropriate people, whether that's the teacher in question or the administration.
