You need to go downtown on the first day of a shoe sale. Then pick up a random shoe, you know once you have managed to pick yourself up and dust the footprints off your back after getting in the way of the rushing herd, and ask loudly "is this a special edition Prizola?". Now you'll get three responses, number one is people (rightly) saying "you just made that up". Number two is a group of people trying to snatch it due to some collectors thinking it is some supersecret thing and the downshouters are just trying corner an obscure market. Reaction three is just like two, except someone stabbed you in the ribs with a boxknife to get hold of it.

Then, after the ER released you, go to a comic store and try that with a rare Batman or something. Same reaction.

Shoe people are just as psychotic as any other collector. Instead of this being about shoes, just imagine the OP has said they hate it when people don't put their comics into plastic bags to treat them with respect.

That all said, this was reaching and probably should have hit the failbar. OP should have at least thrown in a swear word of some sort to keep it interesting.
