Not really though? His gut is pretty big, but it looks like nothing more than a great big beer gut. Not obesity.

Eh, maybe. I'm only going on my experience - overweight right now, but based on the extra poundage that gut would entail, I'd be obese (blah, blah: height and weight and gender differentials, etc.).

Either way, obese or overweight: OP, I'm glad it inspired you to start working out. :)

'Obese', at least per the medical/BMI-based definition, doesn't necessarily look all that big. I've seen people classed as obese who have far less of a gut than that guy.

Yep, I'm technically obese and I wear a size 12. You don't have to look that big.

WHich was never intended to be used a measure of "appropriate" weight for anyone.
