Disagreeing. I don't care if the author is latina, if they turn a canonically black character latina, they better mark that down as an AU. If I read a fic assuming the character is black and then they suddenly turned out to be latina halfway through, I'd be annoyed.

"Dafuq, mark your AUs" would not be rude at all and has no bearing on who the author is

Not disagreeing with your main point but you do realize that being black doesn't preclude one from being Latina, right? The two are not mutually exclusive.
