A big thing on the show was Phil periodically wearing Lil's bow and how their parents couldn't tell which was which if they did that. But there is one episode where the Babies all start going starkers and the boys are surprised to notice that Lil's got different anatomy from them. I wouldn't say there was much in terms of strict gender norms applied to them they both liked Reptar for instance, but I've never heard of a cis-girl who was born with the name Phillip.

Maybe I thought Phil was short for Phillipa? I really don't know, I vaguely remember the bow thing now that you mention it, but apparently that never tripped me up. Weird.

Ah they did resort to calling each other "Philip" and "Liliane" when they were mad at each other, but you probably missed out on that too.
