That movie was so awful, but I felt bad for him when his son died

As annoying and useless as his son was, I did feel bad when he died. Not for the son, that was fine, but for the villain. And I felt weird that they didn't seem to explore that very much... but I didn't expect a whole lot from this movie. I liked it, but it was very... plain.
