Annoying people you care about

I love my mother, but I hate how she feels like she's the only one allowed to talk to people about things they don't care about and will, literally, tell someone to shut up if they do it to her [despite her having just done so to them].

What people annoy you that you love?

I think pretty much everyone I know has some trait that I can't stand.

It's just a matter of their friendship being more important than my annoyance.

OP, I promise that for every person whose annoying habits you piss and moan about, you have traits that get on their last nerve too.

My brother is always talking about what people in other countries are like or how their society differs from ours. He's wrong more often than he's right and I know because I'm the only one from my family that's traveled outside the country. I think jealousy is part of it though because my mom is always "That's so fascinating!" when he says that stuff and yells at me if I try to correct him. And the only times I've talked to my family about places I've been, they ignore me and have conversations with each other over me because I'm just being a show off by talking about other places or something.

If my mother hears about a natural disaster striking some place she's been to, even if it was just for a weekend, like, 30 years ago, she will make a HUGE deal out of it and go on and on about how she was there [30 years ago]! If she's never been there? "Oh that's sad" *immediately puts it out of her mind* Might as well tell her an earthquake struck Narnia, for all she'll treat it like a real event in a real place.
