Doubly so when no one ever, ever, ever, ever implies that having a few drinks turns a man into a brainless, helpless baby.

Exactly. It's a ridiculous double standard. Either you're responsible for your actions after a few drinks or you aren't. And given that the law says if you get into a car and drive after drinking, you can be prosecuted for it? Seems to me the answer there is pretty simple.

Ehhhh...IA about the idiocy of the double standard, but I disagree about the rest. If you drunkenly misjudge your movements during sex, it's rare that you'd get anything worse than a broken nose from a poorly-placed elbow. If you drunkenly misjudge your movements in a car, you could kill several people.

Except that there are enough people who give men a free pass when it turns out they were drunk.
"C'mon, he didn't mean any harm. He just beat you up because he was drunk. He didn't realize it was you because he was too intoxicated".
This was legit being said to me when I tried to seek help after my ex had beaten me nearly unconcious. Additionally, people started to pity HIM because he was an alcoholic and urged me to forgive him and give him a second chance.
Also funny he apparently "didn't realize it was me" when he called me by my name more than twice while he was attacking me.

Men are getting infantilized all the time and it's not always done to give them a disadvantage. On the contrary, what about all the people who claim that men can't help raping someone once in a while because they can't control themselves when they see something that sexually excites them? That's turning men into brainless people to EXCUSE their crimes.
