Oops? With "Fantastic Beasts" being made into a series of movies, the fandom's back in full force.

Speaking of which, I need to read this book. Can't remember if I have or not (have a vague feeling I might have, but not sure).

Even though I'm a Harry Potter fan who actually kind of misses the fandom, I have to agree with this. I think when I miss the fandom, I forget how screwed up it could be. Though I'm not sure how we bothered other fandoms - anyone care to elaborate?

I was thinking the same after the "Fantastic Beasts" announcement. Before that it was so quiet and I could actually enjoy the rare Potter post that crossed my way. Now the fandom is starting to wake up and already I find it loud and obnoxious and infiltrating my fandom spaces. *sigh*

Ergh, yeah. I loved Harry Potter, I really did, but at the same time... I said my goodbyes in 2007. I went to the remaining movies because it was the sociable thing to do, and I felt like I owed it to the franchise, but I was perfectly happy for the story to be over.

I hate the fact that everyone who was a Harry Potter fan is now expected by the policers of fandom to jump immediately on the bandwagon for a series with an entirely different setting and cast of characters (because there was really no story left with the original set), just because it's set in the same universe.

Because seriously, now that all the HP furor has died down, all the fandom's crazies have started spilling over into other fandoms. o.O How is it quieter?

WTF My Snape and Hermione OTP is still going strong! And there are three dedicated archives that still spawn out a metric ton of good HP fan fiction! It's not slowed down at all. I just wish SGA and SG still had a lot of creativity in the fandom. Thank goodness Torchwod still lives on like HP!
