Something similar was done in the German dub, but even as a child I didn't buy it at all. Shows how children are usually not homophobic until conditioned to be; the thought of them being cousins who were in love with each other was icky to me. It didn't even mater that they were both female.

Uhm, nope, the German dub actually got that one right for once. They were definitely a couple, and not related at all. But there was other stuff - like making Zoisite a woman, for example.

I remember it differently. Strange.
I could swear when I was a kid I wondered about them being cousins. Maybe I remembered it incorrectly and confused it with the English dub. I was raised bilingual.
