Ritchie!verse OT3 for me (Mary rocks). Honestly, though, the movies were one of the single slashiest versions of Sherlock Holmes I've ever seen, and that is saying quite a bit. They danced. I'm fairly sure the audience was actually meant to ship them in that verse, or at least come to the conclusion that Holmes, at least, was head over heels and also extremely jealous of Mary.

The Sherlock pair don't have at all the same dynamic. Which is not necessarily to say that they're more or less shippable, but just that shipping Ritchie!verse wouldn't necessarily lead to shipping Sherlock!verse. Or any other verse, really. I only shipped ACD platonically, for example (platonic and really intense, but still platonic).

They didn't just dance. It's canon that Holmes taught Watson how to dance.
