I think it's Laura Roslin from Battlestar Galactica. The picture looks like the moment right after she died when Bill Adama put his wedding ring on her finger.

Yep, it is. Never had a fictional character hit me that hard in the heart before. I just adore her.

Same here. "Mom and Dad" were the two characters I cared about most in the series, and even though I know there really wasn't a different way Laura's story could have ended, it still hurts to watch.

Exactly. I don't actually have an issue with her dying from a story point of view, because that was her destiny all along. But still, even though I read plenty of fic where she's alive and I love it, sometimes I suddenly remember she died and it sucks my breath away because I miss her so much.

Fiction is an odd thing.
