Back when drabble comms were a thing, the rules were that the story had to be exactly 100 words.

And I think there's a difference between language "evolving" and a word "completely losing its meaning."

Ah, I did not know that. I've seen this wank before and I've only seen the argument between the sides of "around 100" and "as long as it's short".

So...lesson learned. Thanks for the heads up.

Lots of drabble comms didn't have the 100 word count rule. It varied by fandom and sometimes even different parts of fandoms had different rules.
