I don't really like drabbles that keep the 100 words rule. They are always just to short to be interesting to me.

Nonsense. Stories can be well written or badly written. Length has sod all to do with it.

Well written is not really the problem. Just that I have never read a 100 word drabble which wrapped everything up properly. I usually end up wanting more. Unless it is about nothing a all. Then I just wonder why I read that.

So many drabbles are badly done and feel like they were snipped from a longer piece. A drabble, so far as I'm concerned, should feel complete. So many writers fail on that one, regardless of how many words they use,

I agree with you. It's like only getting a tiny nibble of something tasty and not being allowed any more.

And I count both strict 100-word drabbles and inexact whatever-number-of-words drabbles in the same category when it comes to the "Too short!" feeling.
