Speaking for myself, I'm closer to people on the internet whom I've known since forever, than the people I've more recently met IRL. Not everyone has a BFF they've known for years and years - it gets tougher as you get older and your life situations keep changing and everyone moves around. But the people who have stayed constant for me for 10+ years, even as we drift from fandom to fandom or in and out of it completely... I'd call them the best friends I've ever had.

Time is a huge thing. Of course you're going to have a stronger connection with people you've known longer.

I'm not saying online friends aren't real or are lesser, just different.

I was saying that I, personally, have stronger friendships with real life people not just because of time but because of the physical things I can actually do with them that are really important to me in a relationship.

But never did I say my internet friends were lesser or not important.

Eh? I never said you said those things. I too was speaking for myself, like I indicated in the post.

Oh I so read your post wrong. Wow, go me.

Uuuuggghhhh I'm not even tired. This is what I get for frying my brain with anxiety over a play.

Sorry about that anon!
