Hrm. Maybe not fandom, but on WoW my guild was very close. We (my sis and I) were particularly close with a guy named Ed. When we all stopped playing we kept in touch with Ed and I text him at least once a week. When I visited OK, he let us stay at his house on the way there. We spent the night eating pizza and watching Game of Thrones. We send each other Christmas gifts and such.
