(Anonymous) 2013-09-29 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)Of course, Poe's Law means that a lot of drabbles will be crap, but the style has a ton of merit nonetheless. There's nothing wrong with normal short fiction, and you can do things in 274 words that you can't do in 100, but the strict format of drabbles is both challenging to write and pleasing to read, like the strict format of a sonnet.
As for your subject line, again, no. Twilight is about 500 pages long. Hemingway's story "For sale: Baby shoes. Never worn." is six words long, yet has twenty times the depth and weight.
