I met my best fandom friend through livejournal! We were members of the same communities and just struck up a conversation, friended each other then started talking outside of LJ. That must've been 7+ years ago; we rarely go more than a day or two without talking now.

And she's hilarious, intelligent, incredibly sweet and thoughtful, etc etc; just very supportive and interesting and a wonderful friend. /gush

On a more material level, she sends fucking amazing presents.
