Re: what do you consider "older"

I've never encountered any consistent problem with people being able to engage in internet communities based on age. One of the earliest forums I started participating in, back when I was a teenager, had a lot of middle-aged people on it and they were basically the movers and shakers of the community.

The closest I can get would be people who are old enough to no longer have the mental dexterity to remember all the technical steps of operating a computer. My surviving grandparents are over 90 and used to use email and do web searches and had cell phones. They've more or less forgotten how to use them, now, even though they're not senile.
