I would accept 'drabble' as being always limited to only 100 words if any of the word hinted at 100 in any way. It's a nonsense word, if I were to guess at any roots it would be 'dabble' to undertake something superficially or without serious intent.

If you want to get Greek, hecato- would be a good place to start. For Latin, centi- is always in style.

English is a living language and new word definitions are being added all the time, since the purpose is communication. If enough people believe in a word meaning, it because a new meaning. And if 'squee' can be added to the Oxford dictionary, drabble can mean any writing under a certain length.
