Is this is in reference to that incredibly batshit crazy LJ post that was linked to in the 'rape' secret the other day? The one that rant-vomited how Joss Whedon rapes his wife because he has a penis or something?

Wait, what? How did I miss this? Link to this, please? :)

Get your shots up to date before diving into this vat of crazy, and you should probably shower afterwards too. Just sayin'.

Thanks, and good to know. :)

ETA: ...what the ever loving fuck did I just read?

You weren't kidding about that shower...

ETA 2: Reading the comments and _allecto_'s response and I think they are even worse than the article itself. Apparently all prostitution is rape even if the woman has complete control over her body and her clients. WHAT. Way to undermine female agency right there. -_-

I came across this quote in a discussion on a feminist group one and think it's quite apt: _allecto_ is the animate strawman.

I just...WHAT is the logic in ALL prostitution being rape no matter what? It's one thing to say most prostitution is coerced or make it a parallel to full on sex slavery, but claiming that even when a woman chooses the profession and her clients, it's automatically rape...? What?!

How...how is THAT argument supposed to be a feminist? To empower women? HOW?!

/flails in confused rage

As near as I can understand the gibberish she's spouting, her "radical feminist" definition of rape is that all men rape all women no matter the circumstances because women have been conditioned and coerced by the masculine/patriarchal dominant men to want their penetrative, invasive sex via the penis throughout history. See, if they had just left us alone and not conditioned us to want them, we wouldn't. Therefore it's ALL rape.

It's really the most insulting thing a group of "radical" feminists can say about women as a whole, as if the whole of us should fit into that narrow little philosophy because it makes them sleep better at night or something idiotic like that.

As for prostitutes being raped, I suppose radical feminists assume if given a choice, women would never willingly choose to sleep with a man (or another woman) if not for the money...so again, rape.

So to empower women to have their own agency and make their own choices in life, the answer is to undermine their agency and discredit their choices? That...that makes perfect sense. -_- My hats off to you, anon, for making more sense of this than I.
