I don't think it's that uncommon. This doesn't sound like a sex/bedroom thing to me, it sounds like when guys are jerks to you you want their approval. Is there something less satisfying about the approval of decent human beings?

I'm the exact opposite, and I spend a lot of time being confused by guys who are assholes getting anyone's time or attention.
