I really wish they had not picked any with actual characters you can distinguish on them. :C I voted for the Cecil/Carlos one where they are just silhouettes.

That is exactly how I feel. I wish they had done the one I linked to a while ago. The characters were perfectly represented without giving them a face. I'm thinking that's the one I'll vote for too just because I don't see any other option. You mean the top one right?

Like, I really liked the Native American Cecil they have on the right. In fact, I know I've reblogged that art. I just don't want to give Cecil and official face.

I feel the same, and I voted for the silhouettes too. I love all the art but I think the official stuff should keep it vague because that was how it as meant to be. I feel like if you give them any face on the shirts that is going to ruin the it could be anything factor.

I think I've seen all the art though, I stay in the tag a lot even with all the wank. It just depresses me that it always has to go back to race no matter what. Though really only a couple of people seem to be stirring it all.

Personally, I think it's annoying that people are arguing choosing a non-ambitious shirt "wouldn't influence people's head canons" because of...reasons?

I'm not arguing. I remain silent in fandom. I only talk about Night Vale here.

The reason I, personally, voted for the one on the upper left is because I don't want an official Cecil. I love the fact that Cecil can be whatever anyone wants him to be.

So yes, because of "reasons". Are you going to call me racist next? Because half the reason I like the fact that I can imagine him however I want is so that I don't have to imagine him as that white and blonde version. I don't have to even imagine him as human.

I also don't think that picture is "non-ambitious". I think it looks nice. Does the one with his face clearly showing look nice too? Yes. It does. I like both. In fact, I reblogged both weeks ago to my tumblr. I really, really think the art is fantastic in both of them. That still doesn't change the fact I don't want a canon Cecil. Shit, I don't even have a canon Cecil in my own head.

Look, you and I can have different tastes in art but I am NOT getting into the racism wank that is also going down in the tags on tumblr. You don't have to like my reasons for voting for what I did. But you don't get to tell me my vote had no legitimate reason behind it or that I should have voted differently. It was my fucking vote. You should vote however you feel best for whatever your completely legitimate reasons are. That's how voting works.

I'm sorry I worded this harshly but really, I do not want to argue over why I voted for something which I am completely allowed to do for whatever fucking reasons just because you don't agree.

Edit: I feel like a bitch now. I'm sorry. I'm just not having a good morning at all. And then this comment set me off. Ugh! I want to smash my face on something. I'm sorry.

I actually wasn't arguing with you at all. It was me expressing annoyance at the people who were saying [or at least implying] that voting for something that didn't give a specific image of cecil was racist.

My personal view on the issue? I don't care what people think he looks like. I don't actually *have* a headcanon for him, but seeing people imply that it's racist to not vote for a poc Cecil [and, usually, have an added dose of "~but don't let me influence your horrible views~" on top] irritates me. Even more so since I've seen plenty do it *and* start bitching about white people being pissy since the only reason they wouldn't vote for the one specific Cecil is because ~they're just pissed he isn't white~.

If that Cecil shirt wins? Fine, it's obviously what the community wanted, and I wouldn't be buying it anyways. I just don't like how the fandom, at least large swaths of it, is reacting.

So no. I'm not calling you racist, and I apologize since I obviously worded my comment badly...but please. Don't accuse of my trying to start wank, or being one of those idiots who assumes expressing an opinion when voting makes someone else racist.

And now I've misunderstood someone for the third time on the same post. I need to stop. Fuck me.
