Everyone I know who saw it when it first came out didn't like it and only certain types seem to like it these days. I was bored to death with it and didn't see enough to even say that I disliked it.

This. In fact, I'm always amused when people call it a "masterpiece for it's time" and "one of the best movies ever" because even back when it was released, many people hated it. I remember having an in-depth discussion with some co-workers about how dull it was.
