Again, I understand that if people truly believe life begins at conception, then they'll believe abortion is wrong. Granted, I am not okay with people taking rights away from women or simplifying the problem - there's usually a lot more to it than that - but yeah, I can understand the mindset, really.

On the other hand, I've got no sympathy for these assholes who protest. It just makes the women have an even shittier day, and pisses everyone off. They bully, shove dead fetus dolls at women and rant at and shame women. And, especially at my clinic, exploit kids. I can't imagine they have ever changed anyone's mind.

I can't either. Like, I don't like abortion. I never will. But I can imagine that if a woman goes for one, she's probably at the end of her rope and at least feel like she has no other options. She's probably scared or upset, and I really doubt that a lot of women hop out of bed in the morning and chirp 'I think I'll go down and get an abortion today!' And to attack and harass someone when they're at that point? That's just shitty and those people need to stop thumping on their Bibles, actually read them, and give a little more thought about how Jesus would approach those women and talk to them.

Yeah, same here. Abortion is a really confusing issue and while 9 times out of 10, I don't support it, I wouldn't throw my opinions at people. That's nuts.

I guess it only really becomes in issue if you believe that souls exist. The earth is so heavily overpopulated that if we continue to rise in numbers, millions of people will starve to death/there won't be much habitat left for other animals.

I guess for me it's a survival thing. Are humans surviving? Yes, yes to an insane degree. Abortions actually help stem the increasing overpopulation issue with have right now. I also don't believe in souls, so yeah.

I do not see it in either of those ways.

If aborted fetuses would have "souls" then they'd be innocents, and just pass on to the afterlife.
I also do not believe abortion is the best way to stunt population growth (education and access to affordable contraceptives is).

I just believe that every woman (and every man, but less relevant to this issue) has an absolute right to bodily autonomy, and certainly no government or law should be able to make them give up that right. That's basically what is is for me. I'll gladly take aborting a non-sentient protohuman over government forcing women to be human incubators. Ideally, there would be no need for abortion. But sadly, nature really wants us to reproduce, even when WE do not.
