Probably nothing. While I find it incredibly stupid, some people get off on that dynamic and in their wank-perfect fantasy that's the way it is. I can only hope they do not carry the same convictions into real life, but even then, I'm not sure if fanfic is the medium I should use to contact people and lecture them. It's a bit too SJW-ish to my tastes.

I didn't go into detail about why I found the phrasing problematic, at least. I didn't want to give a lecture or seem like I was soapboxing. Shoot me if I ever sound like an SJW!

I wasn't implying that you were!

I personally just find fic such murky territory because a) sometimes it's written by very young people who use it to explore and thankfully grow out of it and b) what people get off on doesn't necessarily reflect who they are in real life (for example, plenty of people who like rape fic wouldn't hurt a fly in r/l). I thinbk it's only problematic if they carry that mentality into r/l, but tat of course is hard to tell - unless you have more info?

No, there wasn't any indication that they actually thought this way for r/l. They did both seem very young.
