*nodding*

Yep. I can't begrudge them continuing, because the actors / writers / staff are still making money and that's a good thing, but it's a pale shadow of its former self. Which, I guess, is inevitable, but still kind of sad.

Oh my God, are you me anon? I feel the exact same way.

I was thisclose to giving up the show at the end of last season, but I decided to give it another chance. After the premiere, I'm out (well after Wednesday, because I want to see how the case is resolved because despite the stupid twist, it was still interesting).

I wanted to stick it out until at least the 200th episode because it's JJ centric and I love her, but I can't do it. I'll be watching that episode because of that and Paget's appearance, though. And I want to see the one with Hotch thinking about his past with Haley and the Reaper, but that's it.

It makes me really sad that it's come to this point. And I'm glad everyone still has a job!

I gave up last season. 'Tis a sad, sad state of affairs because I loved this show.

Frankly, I'm astounded people have lasted this long. I made it to the beginning of season 6, and I quit when JJ left. I wasn't particularly attached to her, but I knew it was the start of suckage. Writing out an actor to give others her salary, with (from what little attention I paid the backstage stuff) no other reasons to get rid of her? Whoever mandated that would only do other things that would screw the show/actors/fanbase over.

You made it farther than I did. I got slightly past Mandy Patinkin leaving, then I decided the whole show was just a series of snuff films.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-02 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Did you not know what you were watching the first two and a half seasons?
Did Mandy Patinkin's presence make the show somewhat LESS of a series of snuff films?

Whatever. Rossi wasn't a drama queen about everything so the show got better after Patinkin's exit.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-02 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
This. I have no idea why people pretend that this show was about high art instead of the FBI hunting down serial killers just because Patinkin was in it.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-02 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
No, that's just when I decided it wasn't a regular old crime procedural and the writers seemed to be taking far too much joy in showing all the death. I was using it as a point of reference.

Well, hopefully, you'll only express your leaving here and not be one of those ASSHOLES that sticks around telling us how you've "moved on" from the show to make yourself feel superior.

I still enjoy the show a lot.

I'm pretty sure at this point I'm just watching the show out of habit. The end of this season's premiere was painfully grasping at straws.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-02 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
You lasted longer than me! For the past several seasons I just watch the clips with Morgan&Garcia on youtube.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-02 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Didn't watch it. Can someone fill me in on what was awful?

(Anonymous) 2013-10-02 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
I jumped ship after a few episodes of season 8. I loved the first four seasons, five was okayish, and after that it seemed to become more about the murders (which got more and more screen time) and less about the characters and the investigation. Glad to hear I made the right decision.

So wait, Morgan and Garcia hooked up for real?

No

I had to stop watching when I (finally) realized how much this show hates women.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-02 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
UGH I KNOW. :( I keep thinking what a shame it is that such a great show went down the toilet so fast. I love the actors and the characters, but the writing quality of this show is so sub-par now that I feel embarrassed for them.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-02 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
I checked this show when it started airing in my country, saw Reid and backbuttoned (or the tv-equivalent of it) as hard as I can. Then when Paget Brewster joined, I checked a couple of episodes again, and it wasn't as bad as I afraid. Then came Rossi, I was hooked, and more-or-less stayed with the show... then Paget and AJ Cook were written out, and my trust was shaken, and after that... it wasn't the same anymore, and now the (relative) new episodes arrived, and I just can't make myself to care.
When I backbuttoned the first time all those years ago, I hadn't got a clue that once I could are as much as I did... and now it's gone. It's sad.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-02 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
I quit last season when they admitted they had introduced a character just to kill her off to cause Reis maximum pain. It is a hops decision OP!

(Anonymous) 2013-10-02 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
I stopped watching after Paget left the show. She was the reason I was watching so... But I haven't heard that many great things about the later seasons.

I have to admit, I'm a bit afraid. I haven't even watched season eight yet, but I was already kinda meh about seasons six and seven. I still love the characters a lot, though, so I guess I'll still give eight and nine a chance, too.
